What if a person you don’t know asked you to walk barefooted in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) under the hot weather, would you do it? I bet you wouldn’t and you might even be bewildered on why he or she approached you. You might probably ask, why or maybe for what?
But what if you were told that if you will walk in BGC barefooted for an hour and in exchange, a kid in need would be able to have a pair of shoes for free, would you do it?
I would do it!
And I’m proud to say that I have been part of TOMS second year celebration of the campaign called “One day without shoes”. This was the first time I attended and I guess if I were to be invited again, It would be a pleasure to do a repeat!
TOMS without shoes campaign is a call for individuals who wanted to participate and walk barefooted in Bonifacio Global City, and in every individual who participated, a pair of shoes would be given to the needy. Aside from that, they even did created a campaign over Instagram wherein for every photo posted and use the hashtag #WithoutShoes, TOMS will be giving a pair to a child in need. One photo = 1 pair of shoes. Amazing! Easy peasy! All you need to do is pose and post!
Let’s do our share by posting a photo of your bare feet on instagram with the hashtag #withoutshoes any day from today to May 21. For every posted photo, TOMS will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. TOMS wants to give away one million pairs of shoes this month. Will you help us reach that goal? @tomsphilippines
As the pioneering brand who have this concept, TOMS have already came a long way. Aside from shoes, they also sell bags and even eyeglasses where in buying a pair, one would be donated. (Check this one: Improving more lives with TOMS SM Mall of Asia) I attended the event with friends in the blogging community, making the prepared activities even more exciting. It was nice to see that everybody is so into it, taking off their shoes and just enjoying the day. As we march along BGC, Carlos Celdran leads and throws some fun trivia and contest as well for all the participants.
See how fun it was! Let’s value kindness, even doing something of a little inconvenience, the return would be selfless. Hope you can join us again next time!
